tea party of the dead

we never learned being right without hate
this tower is simply our fate
take comfort to see that all we believe
things our father's knew in their reprieve

the lost they can never come in
kept out by the weight of their sin
and i won't lift a hand to free
those who choose to disagree

but look how we're casting off shackles
of the weak we cast out to the jackals
smirk and just drink to their health
these chains can carry our wealth

but who am i
to lock you out again
the least of these
i've shunned as a friend

communist dance party (and youth choir)

hey
hey
hey

let's start this again
start getting along
pretend that we cared
pretend we never faltered

pop your hips
say it quick
your lips hold us for only so long
take a breath
hold it in
what you're waiting for won't drown
you

hey
hey
hey

lets try this again
try growing apart
without all this bitterness
without all this hurt

but friends are there to share the hurt
with "brother i've been there to"
"just open these doors"
"i can't it's too hard"
"but i'll try again"
"comrade, you're one of the few"

shut up about one piece

awkwardly holding our heads
it is pride we littered here
pull your hands to your sleeves
winter's the reason, hide your shame
and cover the source of our fear

i loved you too much
to say what i felt
"i'm okay" will carry us through

this night full of months never ends
years passed in another last weekend
our last hour to know

awkwardly holding our hands
it is loss rescued from gain
pull your hood over head
summer's we bear, revel in pain
and dance around the source of our fear

traitors we stay, with hearts all aflame, come to knowing again
your open complain, to miss all that's real
traitors we stay, with hearts all aflame, come to knowing again (i miss)
your honest disdain, what made me feel
traitors we stay, with hearts all aflame, never knowing again
